Zoho Makes Its Way To India; To Expand Sales & Marketing Presence

Zoho, a web based productivity suite, has announced that it is making its way into the Indian market.

The company claims that it has 50,000 customers worldwide. The company also claims that India is home to around 50 million SMBs, of which 10 million are technology-ready. Zoho, being a web based app is already available to Indian SMBs. In fact, out of the $150 million revenue, nearly 5 per cent comes from India, reports TheHinduBusinessline. Zoho already serves clients like Ingram Micro, NIIT and Clear Trip in India.

Zoho told MediaNama that it will increase its sales and marketing team in India to grab attention of Indian SMBs. Apart from that, Zoho also told us that they offer discounts on yearly subscription plans to SMBs worldwide.

Zoho currently offers Zoho CRM, Zoho Sites, Zoho Mail suite, and Zoho Doc suite. Zoho recently launched its Do It Yourself (DIY) website builder — Zoho Sites — which is available at the Google Apps Marketplace. Apart from that, Zoho also provides a Zoho mobile invoicing app, however, the app is only available on Google’s Android operating system. In a blogpost, Zoho announced reports integration that gives access to a host of advanced analytics features to Zoho CRM users. Zoho’s office suite offers – Writer, Projects, Sheet, CRM, Show, Creator, Wiki, Planner, Suite, Notebook, Chat, Meeting and Mail. Currently all of Zoho’s 28 tools are free to use on individual level.

Launched in 2005 in the US, Zoho has offices in California, Austin, New Jersey, Chennai, Singapore, Tokyo and Beijing.

Zoho competes directly with Google’s independent products like Google Drive (also knows as Google Docs), a web based office suite;  Google Sites, a structured wiki- and web page-creation tool; Google GoMo, a DIY mobile website builder. Apart from that, it also competes against Microsoft’s offline office suite — Microsoft Office and it’s online counterpart — Microsoft Office 365.
